Hello, I don't know if anyone actually initiated a thread about what shouldnt we include in our Personal statement. I know people's circumstances vary by miles, but I wanted to know your perspectives and how you would want to present or explain your critical or compromising situations.

I have a situation which I wanna present in my essay-my average or rather sub average grades in my undergrad. I did my B.Sc. in PharmSci in the UK, which wont count towards any prereqs here at all, but will surely count as an experience. My GPA is currently good though 3.8ish, but I wanna explain my circumstances which led to my scores kf B's and few A's and C's during my time in London. I hated the year long cramming and vomitting it all out in a few exams. The fact that I didnt quite cope with that system, will explaining or even mentioning this portray me as an incompetent student or someone who's not flexible to changes? Any advice will be appreciated 🙂

P.S im applying to private schools only!

Don't explain about your good grades

I wouldn't talk about grades at all - that's what I've heard. When you are in an interview and if they ask you about it, you can talk about it a lot more than you can in a personal statement with limited space. Also, you have good grades - getting a C or two means you are human!

Never mention any specific school names.

Thanks! Yep I guess I can save the part for grades for the interview. So is it mostly about my goals and what led me to choosing Pharmacy? Shall I describe my extracurriculars or jobs related to Pharmacy? Or anything personal?
