I was wondering when should i start to put together my Personal Statement and letters of recommendation? Just so i don't have to throw one together and call some old employers while freaking out cause the college i want to go to needs it tmr!...

if you're currently in school, i say ask for the LoR when you feel that your grades and relationship w/ the prof is at its best/peak.

if you've been out of school for a while like i have, just make sure your manager/super/boss has ample time to write you a good letter and not rush through it.

and make sure to check the supplemental apps for addtional LoR or recommendation forms. i wasn't aware of some recommendation requirements of a local school and ended up scrambing to get them all done in time.

as for the pers statement, it took me A LOT longer than i originally anticipated, so it's not a bad idea to start early. i must have written 5 different versions before i picked one.

thanks a bunch... looks like its time to start on that P.S.... anyone have any tips for starting or what this should include?... or should i just google it to figure out what they're looking for?!

Also for letters of rec. would a current pharm. i worked for this past summer and my organic professor be legitimate people have vouch for me?... and yes i know my organic prof pretty well.... you could say i'm in his office a bunch and i work in the chem stock room right now at my university so sometimes he stops by to just chat.

any feedback?!

the letters should not only reflect your academic/professional accomplishments but also be show the depth of that person's understanding of who you are and why you would be a good candidate for a pharmacy program. it might help if they know your intentions of applying for pharm school and for you to show genuine interest by the questions you ask and your aptitude to apply what you learn towards your future career.

if you're going to apply on pharmCAS, take a look at their guidelines for the PS and start from there.
