I think it depends on what you are looking to get out. Are you looking for an introduction text about the procedures in OMS. Then big Petersons is fine, not baby Petersons. If you are wanting more in depth knowledge that is purely research citations and a tidal wave of references to the point of uselessness. Then Fonseca is your book. Atlas is a good book if you are trying to read up on a procedure that you may be involved with in the near future but these types of books are rarely in depth enough.
For applying to OMS. I would read "How to make friends and influence people". It will help you on the interview trail. Then once you match you can start reading OMS.
