One of the IS schools that I applied to is requiring me to petition for residency because my parents are residents of another state and I am a dependent on their taxes. I have lived here for over 12 years, almost the entirety of my education, and I have no desire to leave in the near future.
They told me that I should provide as much information as possible with my petition to increase the chances that they can overlook this fact and consider me a resident. Does anyone have any ideas?
What I am supplying so far:
driver's license
vehicle registration
undergraduate billing history (proof of IS tuition)
anything else I can get my hands on
This petition may or may not influence my admission decision, and it will certainly determine whether I pay $25k or $40k for tuition upon acceptance.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
