Hey guys-

I have a close friend, who for personal reasons, is looking to find a PGY-2/3 spot in EM.

Anyone know of any spots?

thanks a ton

We supposedly had a 3rd year spot (we had 2 people leave our current third year class due to a husband getting a job somewhere, personal stuff) for the current year... I'm assuming it's still open although obviously they'd probably graduate a year late. Check the res vacancies website like he mentioned and look for MetroHealth.

Thanks, Mike. I passed the info on to her.

If anyone else knows of any spots, let me know! appreciate it.

Because of expansion in our program at University of Rochester (funding increased from 10 residents per year to 12) we have 3 spots open in the 2nd year class and 2 spots open in the 3rd year class.

From the sound of your question, however, your friend is not currently in EM. I don't know of any program that will take someone into an upper level class without prior EM training. The exception to this would be a program that is 2-4 and your friend has completed a year of medicine, surgery, prelim, or transitional. If you could be more specific about your friend's situation that would help.

Given that Roja is an EM2 and knows the requirements and restrictions, I assumed that the person in question is already an EM resident. Right, Roja?
