PGY-2 Letter of Intent

What is the general layout for a letter of intent for a PGY-2 pharmacy residency position? Is it similar to that as a PGY-1, with the exception of talking about your own experiences as a PGY-1?

Also, what about for PGY-2s who did early commitment at the same institution? Did you talk about your own experiences at your institution so far?

The general layout for letters of intent are essentially the same regardless of the type of position to which you are applying.

If you are applying to multiple PGY-2 residencies, just make each letter unique to the program. By that I mean you should highlight the student/PGY-1 experiences you've had that are best aligned with that program's focus, be it inpatient or outpatient, pediatrics or geriatrics, etc.

As for staying on at your own institution, I don't remember writing a letter of intent when I signed on for a second year. The program director approached me about early commitment, we came to a mutual agreement on the PYG-2 setup/schedule, and we signed the necessary paperwork.
