It seems to me that first aid doesn't have the mode of drug delivery/excretion info..do we not have to worry about this unless it is specifically mentioned in first aid (like this drug is oral only, this drug is parenteral)? Thanks.
 
I would think routes of elimination would be important because of how it directly relates to hepatic disease, renal disease, biliary disease and drug drug interactions, which can either increase or decrease drug levels. BUT, I haven't had boards yet- can someone who's taken boards verify that this is low yield?

If anything, just remember that maintenance doses will be lower, and clearance will be lower, in patients with hepatic or renal disease.
But I've never had the concept come up in either questions, or the actual test. Of course thats just one experience 🙂

i've had the concept come up. but i think the previous poster is correct -- you only need to know qualitatively what the effects of diminished clearance can have on loading and maintenance doses (none and lower, respectively).
