I'm sorry if that has been brought up, I tried searching the forum but I'd like to know if anyone used or is going to use Goldman and Gillmans the pharmacological basis of therapeutics 12e! Its available for free on accessmedicine but this book is a beast, 1800 pages seems kind of excessive to me. I bought Katzungs and Trevors pharmacology examination and board review but I'm not sure if I should use this book for the initial learning process or wait until step 1 studying time to use it. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

most of those books way over do it. I used this:

and class material. You should be set with those two things.

I'm not looking for concise though, I'm about to start the M2 year and would like to have a very good conceptual understanding of pharmacology. I started reading the goldman and gillmans book and it is pretty amazing from what I can tell, but I'm just worried that it is too big haha

I really liked this text:

It's about half the size of goldman & gillmans, but is still pretty darn massive.

Back in pharmacy school, we used Brody's Human Pharmacology as an introductory pharmacology book. I liked it a lot and think it's a good starting point if you want a general overview of everything. See: http://www.amazon.com/Brodys-Human-...91&sr=8-1&keywords=brody's+human+pharmacology

I used Katzung Pharmacology Board Review as my primary text book.

It's just a more concise version of the standard katzung text.

Sorry to bump this thread, but didn't wanna start a whole new one.

Does anyone know if it's worth updating from the 9th edition to the 10th edition of Katzung & Trevor Pharmacology Board Review?
