How much does a pharmacy retail manager make in terms of salary?
Just wondering.![]()
About the same as a pharmacist...unless you work at a verrry verrrrrry busy store then maybe a little bit more.

Pharmacy manager is a stepping stone to DS = District Manager or pharmacy director positions
I heard Pharmacy District Managers make a lot more than a pharmacy supervisor. They get a company car and have their own company related expenses all paid for.
Like any profession, the particular salary will depend on many other factors:
(example: Location, the employer/business, the economy, your experiences and abilities, and etc...)
They also work 50 to 60 hours per week
They also work 50 to 60 hours per week
Thats the easy part. I heard they have to deal with a TON of customer COMPLIANTS. Can you imagine having to hear some trashy customer b*tching you out everyday? 🙄
I think mail order is the best way to go. 👍
but if you can handle it, there's no reason not to, or if you hire a good set of staff.Ugh, you definitely don't want to be a pharmacy manager. They only make about $15,000 more than a regular pharmacist, and they are held responsible for EVERYTHING that happens in the pharmacy (income, customer complaints, etc.). It's just not worth it, IMO.
Mail order is definitely not the best way to go, pretty much an absolute waste of an education.

From my experience pharmacy managers make $10,000-$15,000 more than staff pharmacists. This difference is dependent on how many years you have been with the company and what your current salary is. Being at a busy store can also be an added advantage since most receive bonuses based on inventory control and script count.
Yes, that's the definition of "waste of education"I have to disagree my friend. I work as a tech in mail order. 30 scripts an hour. i sit at a desk with my ipod on. The scripts come to me. on my computer. Did i mention we have a chef.

It's not really a waste of an education if he has found a way to make the same money and do less work....
Also, one of my best friends is a pharmacy manager at Walgreen's and he doesn't end up working that many more hours/week than a staff pharmacist...and he does make about 15k more than the others...and he likes it, so it's really just a personal inclination whether or not it's "better" than a staff position
Me, I have no desire to be middle management.

Everyone's goal is to work LESS, have LESS responsibility, for MORE money. If you denied this you are obviously lying. If I can work Mail Order I will be very happy I would LOVE to just verifed and type scripts all day, why would anyone want to deal with idiots everyday?
