This is a bit OT, but whats the average pay of a tech where you are? I am more interested in hospital figures... I think it tends to pay more. thanks 🙂

Hospitals here pay about $11/hr so I hear. Certification is required.

I work at a pharmacy in VA, make $11.59/hr, certified, experienced.

My sister is looking into becoming a tech. Are there any hopes for advancement?
Thanks for any help 🙂
All4MyDaughter said:At the two chains I've worked at (Walgreens and Kroger) I have met two women who started as pharmacy techs and are now store managers. They both worked hard in their pharmacy jobs and then were invited to join the management training programs of their respective stores.
At Walgreens, all store managers and assistants are required to be certified pharmacy techs so that they understand and can help out with the pharmacy.
