My mother passed away when I was young and my father recently remarried. I am unsure with how I'm supposed to fill out some of the applications for school. On my PharmCAS application, I put that my mother is deceased. But on other applications, I'm not sure if I should note that I have a stepmother now and put what she does for a living. This is kind of a weird issue because I don't want to put my stepmother's information on there and it may be contradictory with the other application. I'm sure it's not a huge issue, but when FAFSA rolls around, I will have to put my stepmother's information there. So...like I said, it's weird. What's your suggestion? Again, I can see that this isn't a big deal at all.

I don't think you have to worry about the info you put on FAFSA vs. the info you put on your applications. Fin-aid and admissions are two separate processes. I'd contact the school(s) to see how they'd prefer how you note that on the applications. I'm pretty sure they'll have no preference as this could be a sensitive family issue for some applicants.

same situation here; but since my father been remarried for 9 years and counting and the level of comfort i feel with my stepmother is very high; i simply put her occupation, education levels, etc in as if she were my biological mother. However, I do like to go more in-depth on the experience of losing a parent in my personal essays and supplementals as an experience that helped me mature.
