Pharmcas calculated my GPA today but I don't understand what I am seeing. There is the top section with Science, Non Science, and Math. Those all make sense to me, but THEN the bottom table..

The bottom table lists Biochemistry, Biology and other life sciences, Orgo, Inorganic, Physics, Other Science, Math, and Microbiology. The Biology and other life sciences adds up to more than stuff I put in that category when I entered courswork. The Graded hours for the whole table add up to my total hours for all of my course work including nonscience. What is this bottom table for? It only lists science subject areas yet it seems they have incor[orated all of my other classes into the "Biology and Other Life Sciences Section". Are they supposed to do that or is there an error?

It is not an error.

Have you submitted your application?? When were your transcripts sent?

I e-submitted, transcripts were sent on 9/1, took them two weeks. I think they messed up something else though.. what a nightmare!

Grade verification will take longer now that everyone else is submitting their transcripts and applications. PharmCas states on their site that it normally takes up to 4 weeks to calculate the new GPA.

I felt like I was so ahead of schedule and now I feel like I am behind on everything! When do most people have everything submitted by? The deadlines are all so late but I feel like secretly everyone submits everything months before!

You are still early right now. I esubmitted in July and app was mailed early August.

I am not a fan of the way Pharmcas calculates GPA either. They messed up mine too and now I have to wait until December(academic update) to fix it.

Agree, they screwed up some AP credits of mine and CLEP exams which I had to work at to fix.

Actually turns out they didn't mess it up. Apparently they grouped my immunology course into Microbio (I thought something was wrong cuz it said I had 8 credits for microbiology). I don't know why they don't just tell you what courses of yours they are putting in each category, its so confusing. I also don't get why we need to submit all of our courses individually, and also send a transcript which they will analyze anyway, and THEN even list them again on some supplemental forms-seems so inefficient, makes ZERO sense.

Anyways it appears my pharmcas is done. Woohoo! It goes out on Monday right? Also is it possible for schools to be contacting me saying they have received my PharmCAS already despite the fact that none of them have been "mailed" yet??!

They do tell you what category they put each course. It's under the coursework as they updated the coursework to match the transcript.
