.Does anyone in here came from Philippines? Am I the only Filipino here? .

Hm, beauty can be such a curse. I'd take your avatar down if you want to avoid the sexist comments.

Too late for the rest of our lot. Your picture is burned into our memories.

p.s. If it gets a coffee date with you, I can do a good job pretending to be Phillipino.

She is 17....Filipino jailbait if you ask me.

This thread is "to Catch a Predator: SDN Version"
Will be kinda difficult to bait her considering she's in the Philippines. That's a few thousand miles from the west coast of USA 😛

No, her being in the Philippines gives compelling reasons to travel! Philippines have some beautiful shorelines.

I have to agree with him. *Read with a heavy southern accent in mind* "Contrary to what some might say, girls such as yourself don't come around these parts. You best be leaving now."

Why is nursing so popular among philipinos, both male and female?

Because we have a shortage of nurses, and it's basically a fast-track to getting a greencard. If you are just a "regular," Filipino, you'll be on a 15+ year waitlist to get to the US. Plus, you can make good money as a nurse here.

yup. we're in the same school actually. It's the best we have in here.🙂

at a nursing home where i used to work, there was a filipino male CNA who was actually a doctor in the philippines! however, apparently he had some trouble with the U.S. board exams and couldn't practice medicine here....pretty sad to hear, but i think he's retaking them

my cousin just came to california from the philippines as an RN. she's part of a program where groups of RN's trained in the philippines are sent to high demand areas here in SoCal. very effective way to get here to the u.s....but then of course, the philippines gets the bad end of the deal...

yup that's true. Filipino doctors became nurses in US! Sounds like a disaster for me. We are in the third world country and they are all leaving instead helping it to make a better place. Well, that's my opinion.
