physician Recommendation letter

Hello there,
would you please help me with recommendation letter.
I have shadowed general surgeon on his office. I asked him for recommendation letter and he said write down whatever is on your mind then send it back to me I will edit it.
I don't know what I have to write down, please get me best sample or hand for this issue.

To be honest, sounds like he doesn't know you that well. How long did you shadow him? A few weeks?

You know that's not very ethical right? You're going to have a hard time finding anyone on here to help you with that.

Just give him your resume, instead of writing the letter for him. Still won't be a good letter though.

An adcom will look at that letter throw it in the trash. They know that someone you shadowed for a few days can't speak to your ability to handle medical school or really provide any meaningful data about you whatsoever.

A realistic letter from someone like this (and I say this with chagrin, because I actually had a letter from a community doc who didn't know me from Adam when I applied, before I learned more about the process) would say, "Mammad is very good at quietly standing in the corner and looking mildly interested at all times. Sometimes he even laughs at my jokes." And that's the best case letter.

According to some people in a certain thread, there's nothing wrong with writing your own letter so your LOR writer can sign it. There should be no problem finding a template for your writer to fill in details, right? 🙄

Because people don't take too kindly to being asked to do someone else's research for them.

2. I'm trying to provide you with an alternative way to find what you're looking for
3. I'm trying to help you understand that even if you do get this letter, it's going to be completely meaningless

1. Shadowing letters are useless. The physician you shadowed doesn't know you and can't vouch for you.

2. Because #1, there's no reason to write your own letter and try to let the physician to modify it. What can he say about you? If you were a doctor and a premed was shadowing you, what would you say to vouch for him/her?

3. No one will write a letter for you. It's your work and not ours.

Well, the problem is fairly obvious now. There's a language barrier.

OP, I'll make my statement simple: a shadowing letter is useless because your doctor can not say anything useful about you. And no one here can help you write a letter.
