I think the airplane analogy is very accurate. If anything, at least the captain would be directly supervising the co-pilot aka stewardess. In medicine, the MD indirectly supervises the NP/PA.1. Day late and a Dollar short.
2. The "Stewardess is flying the Plane" analogy is a little over the top and likely to be perceived as mean spirited.
3. I joined anyway.
It's easy to train NPs when the only requirement for matriculation is internet access, a pulse, and a checkbook
The only difference between a regular NP and a DNP 6 months and “vigorous research”, i.e. an undergraduate level QI project.Just wait till you see what it takes to get a DNP...get ready to vomit.

One of the SRNA’s project where I rotated at was to measure the amount of bacteria on rolls of tape in the OR.I’ve seen them and yeah it wouldn’t be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

House approves independent practice for advanced nurses
The House passed its number one priority off the floor Friday. The bill allows advanced registered nurse practitioners to practice independently.www.wjhg.com
You're assessment is spot on.I predict a significant increase in health care spending due to unnecessary testing and specialist referrals, increase in complication due to misdiagnosis... but hey nurse practitioners are nice to patients so that doesnt matter!
