Hey guys, so after searching around sdn, I couldn't quite find an answer to a question I have had. Next semester, I will be taking Physics II. I found Physics I fairly straight forward (except for a few parts, but with practice it was fine). I was wondering what your experiences with physics II were in comparison to Physics I. Is second semester significantly more difficulty that first semester topics?

Thanks!

I found kinematics from physics 1 so easy because it was all intuitive and straight forward. Physics 2 was harder in the conceptual sense. For example, charge flows one way in circuits, but electrons actually flow the opposite way. Or the different ways you can use the right-hand rule in magnetism. Or just electromagnetism in general, f*** that physics section, I could never have been an electrical engineer.

I hated Physics 1. Found it boring as hell. But I really like Physics 2. I took calc-based, and I'm a Math minor, so doing the more mathematically based definitions of electricity and magnetism really helped understand it well.

I also took calc-based and thought Physics 2 was more interesting than 1, because of how it related to calculus.

Physics II is E&M, which as others mentioned is best understood using calculus (otherwise, you won't cover the fun aspects of Maxwell's Equations :naughty::naughty::naughty:). Using algebra-based approach is really ugly and omits important stuff, but it's doable.

I love you guys. 😍😍😍

Being an Athletic Trainer and loving to SEE things and how it relates to my profession. Loved physics 1, hated physics 2. The great debate only household with my ex husband being an electrical engineer!
