  1. Pre-Dental
I was in a dual credit high school (where I graduated with an associates and high school diploma), and I took a Conceptual Physics class (not math based) at the local CC. It turns out the university I am attending accepted the credit as some sort of Physics for non science majors.

My question is, should I transfer the credit and use it as my physics pre-req for Dental School? I made an A in the class. It also had a lab.

I do know that taking pre-req courses at a CC is not a good idea, so that's why I waited on ALL of my sciences and maths. I got my English, Psych, & Sociology out of the way through my dual credit high school. I made A's in all of them.

Will having these transfer credits hurt me when it comes down to dental school applications in 4 years?
I didn't actually attend CC I just took the initiative to start knocking out pre-reqs for dental school as early as my Jr year in high school.

This fall-- Ill be starting on my Bio, Chem, (Physics maybe), & Calculus prereqs.

Any opinions on my dental school chances down the line as far as pre-reqs are concerned?
My overall GPA is a 4.0 still.. but of course I won't reached the university level until this upcoming semester.

You'll have to include anything you've taken for college credit on your application. No, they will not hurt you. As far as if the Physics credit goes, that will be up to the different dental schools you plan to apply to. Communicate with schools early to find out. You may find you will have to retake that, but if you have that many general education classes out of the way already, you should have no problem working another Physics class into your schedule. As long as the science classes are at a 4-year school you will be fine.

You might also want to check up on the level of physics that is appropriate for DS. I know my top choice doesnt take science for non-majors for prereqs.

Also, we dont really know what your stats are. So it's hard for us to gauge how competitive you'll be.

From what you said, it sounds like your physics course wouldn't count for dental school.. Most schools want one year of a general college physics (and lab), which is heavily math bases. Still might not hurt to call the dental schools because you never know but I'd expect that this class won't be sufficient
