So I will be starting medical school next fall and haven't taken a Physiology course so far. Would it be advisable/beneficial to take a physiology course before I start med school?

Only if you're genuinely interested. The benefits of most undergrad courses are marginal at best. You'll learn in medical school what you need to learn. Don't take a class just because you think it'll make med school easier.

If you have time to kill and nothing better to do, go for it. Otherwise, pre-studying is generally discouraged.

Just spend your time relaxing. Besides, the amount of physio you cover in an undergrad course will probably be covered in 1-2 weeks during med school.

Then I'm assuming it's safe to toss out all my undergrad bio/biochem notes

This will likely help you . why not!

Like I said in a different thread a few days ago, only take the course if you are interested in it. Yes it may help a bit to build a foundation of knowledge, but it is definitely not worth it if you are just suffering through it for the sole purpose of trying to get ahead. Why "start medical school early" when this is your last chance to relax before being thrown into the hellfire? Take it easy.

For me it's either take a physiology class, or take a microbio lab to fulfill a requirement. The microbio lab would be easier but it doesn't sound terribly appealing.

Would you suggest the same for anatomy? Last time I took it was junior year of high school and I hardly remember a thing!
