Figured I'd begin this interview thread for the PICU fellowship interview season this upcoming cycle, especially since some of the Pediatric Specialties Match dates have been pushed forward this year!
As usual, please feel free to post updates as to which programs you've heard back from for interview invites plus dates.

Last year it looks like the earliest interview invite went out 2 days after applications opened (at least from the pool of applicants active on SDN 😆). Impatiently wondering if that’ll be the same this year! I know a few people applying to other subspecialties who received invites — very exciting 🎉

Apologies if this is the incorrect place for my question, but did anyone have an LOR that happened to be processed/released after the July 20th 9AM EST date? If so, did you reach out to programs to notify them or no?

Apologies if this is the incorrect place for my question, but did anyone have an LOR that happened to be processed/released after the July 20th 9AM EST date? If so, did you reach out to programs to notify them or no?

I had a letter upload on 7/21 at 4PM; I did not send messages since it was right after applications opened. I think if it were a week later, I might, though I've heard that when a PD logs onto their system, any new LORs for applications will show up on their list, so at that point they could reprint your application.

I had two letters uploaded later last week and so did the two other people applying PICU in my residency program and none of us specifically reached out to programs. I think if you haven’t gotten it uploaded yet, I would reach out next week just to fyi programs that they’re in process! Colorado sent out an email last week saying that they would only review complete apps and to reach out if your app was incomplete but would be complete soon and I think that’s probably true for most programs.

Glad to know it’s not just me! I looked at last year‘s briefly and it just seems like so much more activity had been occurring around this time but as my husband likes to remind me every time I complain, every year is different! Lol
