Pinstripe Suits

I some times wonder if a pinstripe suit is too much at an interview? what are your thoughts?

Agreed. A well-made pinstripe suit can look very good, but the pinstripes should be subtle.

I've seen a good amount of interviewees with pinstripes, and I've worn it myself. As long as they're subtle, it's not a big deal.

Here's another vote in favor of pinstripes! My suit has pinstripes and I have noticed many applicants wear them also (and here I thought I was being different...)

I wear a Calvin Klein pinstripe suit to my interviews. As long it's a subtle and wouldn't catch an awkward eye, then it'll pass by all eyes. Dress cool, sauve, formal, and conservatively - and that is enough to leave a favorable impression of yourself at the school. The chrome-plated blazer suit and annie glossy red shoes aren't exactly going to make you uniquely stand out positively. if I was an adcom, i'd totally be tempted to make fun of you 😛 .

Macy's had a sale and I needed a suit. Running low on cash since I paid my last installment for my student loan - on the bright side, I'm totally debt free now! Starting saving up for a custom-made Kiton suit 😛. (NOT!)

but damn, some people know how to dress well at interviews - I'm pretty sure I saw someone wearing a Brioni suit at one of my interviews - freakin' crazy!

yeah i'm with you. don't know if i'll ever justify paying 5-10k on a suit. hugo boss will have to do for now haha
