Pitt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How about for those of us that have yet to hear anything from Pitt? I applied very late and have not even heard about an interview. It says my file is still being reviewed. Should I just assume this as a rejection at this point?

tmesis, thanks for the info. Are student interviewers asked to correspond with all accepted students? Or is it just left to their own initiative/discretion?

Thanks.

Hello. The admissions office didn't have the web status update when I applied, so I'm not exactly sure how it works. I do know that Pitt interviews through late March or so, and that a good number of people who interview even after the February acceptances are eventually admitted to the entering class. I don't know one's likelihood of being contacted for an interview after February, however. Best of luck...

Hello locitamd. Yes, the student interviewers (and the faculty ones as well, though some are lax about corresponding) are asked to contact their accepted interviewees. I was personally left voice messages by both.

thanks tmesis, it just seemed in keeping with Pitt's student friendly approach. However, I'm now starting to worry since I've heard nothing.

thanks again,
locita

I was at Pitt a week and a half ago. I was told that the committee would be meeting soon, but that they would not get to my application until the next meeting. On my status page, there is no "Correspondance Sent" line, but 2/22 is indicated as the last day it was updated. I know this does not mean a rejection for me - I was told I wouldn't hear until April. It is possible that their system updated the date for everyone regardless of whether you application was reviewed. Does anyone have an earlier date than 2/22?

Hey punkin -

Congrats on your Pitt interview. The website does automatically update for everyone, the issue in question is whether or not the line "correspondence sent" was added to your status page, and whether or not that is good news. Otherwise, Pitt updates ever few weeks.
