Pittsburgh acceptances??

i called them (twice - yesterday and today). they are sending acceptances out today, usps-style.
 
just got an acceptance email from my student interviewer!
 
wait, i interviewed 10/3... should i be getting an acceptance/rejection letter as well? or is this for only the first "batch" of interviews.

i thought they said anywhere from 3-6 weeks from your interview?
 
time to be paranoid about receiving email from your interviewer now.
 
Do you guys think they sent it "express" via USPS????

Also, is Pittsburgh e-mailing out notifications as well?
 
I think what happens is if you're accepted they notify your faculty and student interviewer. It's up to them if they want to email you to congratulate you and whatnot.

Or, maybe the student interviewer is also on the admissions committee?

lol.. who knows. Last year the decisions were received ~10/20 and were probably mailed out 10/17 (the monday after 10/15). I expect them to have a similar mailing method, so expect something Friday.

When mass mailing, I would assume that most offices would use the standard delivery method. If it's a big envelope, hopefully they sent it at least first class.

I distinctly remember the admissions staff stating that the decision would be communicated via snail mail, and for my group (I interviewed on September 29th), to expect something by the end of this week.

I want to know this as well, since I interviewed the same week. I don't remember them giving us any time frame for decisions on my interview day, but man I hope it's soon....

I love Pittsburgh...it was amazing...I just got interviewed last week, so I prob won't hear for a while....the waiting game begins 😍
 
I saw a bar right by campus that had $1 bottles of Yuengling year-round. It should make a nice study place.
 
just got an acceptance email from my student interviewer


I, too, just got an email from my student interviewer, whom I haven't had contact with since my interview. I interviewed on Sept 15th. I also talked to the assistant dean and they're snail mailing the acceptances this week, not sure what day though.

He didn't tell me straight out, he said you should be hearing some good news in the near future 😉 I hope that means I'm in!

Just got acceptance email from student interviewer! He said he literally found out a second ago. So some of you might hear in a little bit.

Though most days they have class until 5...so maybe your interviewer can't get to a computer right now to congratulate you.

i just remembered reading somewhere that there were indeed people who got in last year who were never emailed by their interviewers. so that calmed me down for about....2 seconds.

Alright people, this is about Pittsburgh acceptances and the whining of those people who've yet to receive them. Erina is one hot momma. This is fact. But plz, let's try and keep this on track, if for no other reason than it freaks me out to see this thread bumped and my mailbox is still empty.

I've seen the pics "she" has posted and they're hot. Even if they are not of her, she's hot because I choose to believe it is so. It's a much better visual than picturing some sweaty-palmed, hairy man sitting in the dark typing with one hand, ya know?

My faculty interviewer sent me an e-mail today informing me that I was accepted 🙂

TO PEOPLE WITH ACCEPTANCES OR ANY SORT OF RESPONSE.

When did you interview? i interviewed 10/4... i figure i have to still wait a few more weeks, no? thanks.
 
When I was there they said they meet weekly whenever the interview reports get back in to them. The dean told me the most likely timeframe was 4-6 weeks. I interviewed early/mid-October so I guess a few more weeks to go.
 
The official letter is snail mailed to you, but a copy is also sent to your interviewers at the same time (if you get the hard copy, you'll see that it's been cc'ed to your interviewers). So since they'll get the letter before you, they can e-mail you and let you know ahead of time, but not all of them do that. I was accepted but never notified until I got the snail mail.
 
wow i go to class for a few hours and craziness happens. thank you for all the compliments...i appreciate them. but about pitt...still no email 🙁

Thanks for the info and the continued hope! Do you know what happens withe the folks that do not get accepted right away? Do they reject people at this point? Or are people put on hold for further consideration?

I wouldn't worry... If you don't get in, no one will. Med students and faculty are busy. If I were them and received an e-mail saying someone I interviewed was accepted, I would just think "that's good" and continue to delete it.
