Hello!

I'm planning on applying this cycle and I just finished up my DAT a couple days ago. The only thing that is holding me back is my shadowing hours. I planned on getting them starting from March, but due to the pandemic I never got to shadow. Luckily, I got an opportunity to shadow a general dentist from my area starting next week.

Will the impromptu shadowing hours and the time frame from which it was obtained from significantly deter my chances for acceptance?

If I wait until I get sufficient shadowing hours, I would be submitting my application around early August. If I submit as soon as my DAT scores get processed, I would be submitting around early-mid July.

Any insight or comments will be very much appreciated!

In your case, I’d probably submit my app in EARLY july then. And then upload the shadowing hours I obtained at the august academic update.
