I received an email from maryland last week saying that the Adcom has waived the need for interview, but still I can go for a tour if I want to. I have already had interviewed there twice. I am not sure if it's a good sign or else? Any ideas?😕 You can imagine how I am feeling these days!

Thank you very much.

Well, we don't know much about your stats. If you aren't embarrassed put them up.

Perhaps your recent improvement on your DAT, along with your persistence has inclined them towards potentially throwing you an offer.

I mean, they could have just rejected you...

To OP: I'm not sure if your intention is to brag, if so please do save it for some other time, thanks.

I think this is pretty uncalled for, the OP is sharing his experience with us, this is really an unusual case and from my sdn lurking, i have never come across something like this. I think it's great that he's posting it. Though, the second poster is right, perhaps if you share your stats, it'll help us understand where you really stand. I read through some of your previous posts, if your DAT didn't improve, nor did your GPA, then this maybe bad news, however, no one really knows until maryland sends you the final word. Best of luck.

How do you get bragging out of this? Interviewed there twice already.

What do you? two? Brag about what? If you can't be of any help don't be unreasonable. Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. I have a low 2.6 undergrad (2004, biology)😳 and a 3.34 1st master's degree (biotechnology, 2006), which makes my overall on the low side! Currently working on my MBA, expected graduation Aug 2010 and also have been taking Core science undergrad classes since fall to boost my GPA up, as the school adviced me too last year, but you know it takes almost another BS degree to pull my GPA up So I am working really hard with a little one at home. oh...I re-took my DAT last year and scored 19. I have research, internship, and teaching experience and during undergrad was a dental assistane for 4 years. I am currently a microbiologist. So here is all of it. Thanks again.

Thank you for your reply. As I was trying to post my thread, I read the same case as mine from last year, but he just explained his situation, like I do. There was no post about what happened after that. It's really frustrating. I have improved my DAT and and working on my 2nd master to bring my GPA above 3.5 (Maryland average)! Also am taking core science classes as Dr. meehan suggested during my phone interview (after my second interview and being reclined). So I am not sure, what is going on, but it's killing me for sure.

It's really hard to tell if this is good or bad
It might be that the school has accepted enough students and adcom decided to stop interviewing all candidates
Do you know if anyone else's interview offer has been withdrawn?
I wish you the best; don't give up, you can do it 🙂

Maryland will be interviewing through March (I am a late applicant and called yesterday to verify.) UMD is one of my top choices!

OP...I think this is a good thing. Interviews are really for seeing if you match your application, to see if you present yourself professionally, and to see if in person you would be a good fit for the program...the intangibles.

I believe after two cycles of interviews, they have a good idea on your intangibles. Your application fills in the rest of the gaps which may have eluded you in the past. They probably don;t want to see you blow the extra dollars on an interview as it would only tell them something which they already verified before.

I think you're in! (But don't take my word to the bank!) I think you should take a deep breath and rest a little easier.

Seriously? Please don't take what I preceive to be anxiety out on posters with legitimate concerns. We're all in the same boat. Stay classy and please try to keep some semblance of professionalism.

It has the making of still being considered but with the added advantage being among those being considered that have already interviewed.

Hakuna matata... They feel they already have a grasp on who you are as a person after your first two interviews.

I agree with doctoothache... I see this as somewhat good news. Now there is nothing keeping them from making an offer. Before they waived your interview, there was no way they could accept you.

Good luck 👍

i got the same email last week... ive been a wreck since!!! the email doesnt give you any indication of whether they like you or if they want to brush you off... 🙁

I feel ya. It's hard. Please post your new info about such case if you got any and I'll do the same. Did you get this email from MD as well? Thanks.

Thanks doc. I hope so. I really do.😳

Thanks subdoc. I talked to my dentist today, whom BTW I worked for 4
years. She was very obtimistic and said the same thing, but she also was optimistic last year😉 Good Luck👍

Thanks doc.
Do you what happened to him? He was in the last year study cycle. I can't find any post about his final status though.
He was wait listed in mid-march and was still asking questions in mid-April. My guess is he didn't get in, or I imagine there would be one hell of a banana dance post somewhere.

Oh...I just received an email from MD requesting my Fall grades. They say that my application will remain on hold untill they receive my grades, but I want to send my fall grades with my winter session all together. I know that I am doing well in my classes during winter and I guess I wanna make a better impression! I have 8 credits right now and had 17 credits during fall which of 6 were graduate courses. What do you guys think? really Desparate😕 Thanks.

LOl... I hope so. He was trying really hard.🙂

my guess is if theyve interviewed you twice they know your story already so they feel like interviewing again isn't worth the expense to you and that they can make their final decision without.

if they were going to reject they would have said so when they waived the interview.... my guess is that youre on the waitlist or in

hi,

over 100 years ago when I applied, I was not sure if I wanted dentistry or my community activities, so I applied late and get into VISTA(Volunteers in Service to America - domestis Peace Corps)..... I was placed on wait list at Penn without an interview.... I got in....

Now I do my domestic and international volunteer work in Dentistry, teach dentistry..... and love every moment of it.....

Now for our residency.... we want to meet everyone who we are considering
