I'm trying to submit my application today. Every time I enter my essay it says I have 5299 characters, but then when I save it it cuts off the end and says I have 5246 characters. I've tried typing it by hand and pasted it in and I still can't add up to the allowed 5300. Please help if you know what I can do. Thanks

What says you have 5299 characters? Make sure you are counting spaces.

I am! The counter below my essay in my application says 5299, but then when it saves, it cuts off like 50 characters.

Which browser are you using? I know Netscape sometimes messes up the word count. If you haven't already, I'd suggest using Explorer.

The problem isn't with you or your browser, it's with the lame application. It doesn't count characters correctly. Your best bet would be to cut your essay down to about 5100 characters, and then try saving.

Wow, okay now it finally let me save it all, all 5299 characters. This was very wierd and I almost submitted my application with it missing. I was not doing anything wrong, there was just something wierd going on for like 10 minutes with AMCAS - Be care everyone!!!!!
