Hi,
I have a question, I am a citizen and my husband isn't and iam sponsoring him and we are planning to move to the states and pursue dentistry there..iam worried for my husband , he has low gpa of 1.6 (because of really bad teachers)and a comprehensive GPA of 3.0 ..he did a 2 year residency in periodontology and soon after that finished he did his 4 years masters in oral and maxillofacial surgery.he is about to clear his MDS OMFS..I want to know what are the chances of him getting into an AEGD program if he clears his nbde 1,2 and ADAT along with dental assistance and shadowing..iam so worried and don't know what to do..
Thanks so much in advance

Blaming teachers because of bad GPA is not a good manner.

I don't like your attitude here.

Iam so sorry I didn't mean that..I am sorry again.and I know this isn't a reason to tell while you interview for admissions..but the problem was that where he studied there weren't any teachers for like physiology , oral anatomy.pharma, and teachers of other subjects or fresh graduates would be trying which wasn't working out for their whole class..so basically there were no professors or assistant professors..anyways iam sorry again

hi may i know where he studied his oral maxillofacial masters degree? since he has a bad GPA, his only chance is getting a better GPA for masters and then taking ndbe 1,2 and trying to apply for AEGD programme. however some states do not grant license on completion of AEGD programme if his DDS degree or OMS masters degree is not accredited by ADA

He did his masters from Pakistan , we know its not recognized cos it needs an M.D. for Omfs..but just considering like he has 4 years experience in Omfs and 2 years period n a total of 8 yrs clinical.experience back in his country..so can all of this be of any help?..yes we know one gets limited license after an AEGD in a few states

Also can I ask for myself I've done my BDS from.Pakistan and I have a GPA of 3.89 and right now iam doing a 4 year residency(which will complete after one a half Yr) in orthodontics ,it will be considered as 4 year diploma or 4 yrs clinical experience in orthodontics..and iam a us citizen..so do I stand a chance in getting admission in advanced standing dds..I will be giving my nbde 1 and 2 this year ...thanks a ton for Ur help

I don't think anyone will take your husband seriously with such low GPA. 1.6 mean, that he failed several subjects and should not have graduated at all due to the fact that he is lucking necessary knowledge to practice safely.
