Please help! Would like to know whether/where to apply despite low MCAT scores

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
With a 25 MCAT, your chances at a US allo school are extremely low,and at the extremely competitive schools that you have designated, I would feel comfortable estimating the odds of an acceptance at about 0%, especially if you haven't already filled out the secondaries. I would recommend taking another year and retaking but keep in mind that you will be considered a reapplicant at all of the schools that you have already designated on AMCAS.

It depends on where you apply. If you apply to osteopathic schools, you'll probably be fine. Allopathic schools will probably be a stretch unless you have a political connection - and at that, it usually only helps once you've made it past the numbers screen to win an interview. If you do end up retaking the MCAT, the good news is that your score breakdown suggests a strength in taking this type of test, but perhaps some weaknesses in scientific concepts (good VR and WS, but average science sections). This type of score is usually easier to remedy if you take a prep. course. Your experiences oversease sound great, and I wish you the best.

Just wanted to thank you for your comments. I realize that I'll likely have to spend another year to sort things out and apply again, but I was holding out in case there might have been some hope. I appreciate your comments.
