I was wondering how much medical schools care about senior grades?

I am taking Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry and I am unsure of how well I will do in these classes

If I get something like B+/B in these classes will that be looked down upon?>

Yes, med schools absolutely care about your senior grades. Schools look for your grades to be high throughout school, or to improve over the course of your education. If you're not mastering heavy science classes at the end of your senior year, they can't expect you to handle the curriculum the first two years.

Will it stop you from getting into med school? No. But it will certainly make it more difficult. Set aside more time to study/work on those classes, and bring those grades up!

If you mean after you have been accepted......then as long as you pass and get all the classes in....I think you are fine.

Personally, I would just get Bs to be safe and not look like a total slackbutt!!

thanks for the responses - to clarify I am applying to schools right now and am lucky enough to have recieved several interviews. Thus while I have not been accepted nor have I even interviewed in some cases - I was wondering if these grades would factor in their decisions if lets say I interview in a week and my grades come out maybe december 20th or so, would they factor those grades in too?

They won't know about your new grades unless you tell them. It would be rare that they'd ask. You'll be judged based on the coursework listed on your Primary application.

If you do not receive an acceptance this cycle, then you have a problem, because the grades from this semester will be submitted and considered if you reapply.

Agreed with the additional info...
