Please I need an advice!

Hi all, this is my issue. I done with must of my pre-requisit like chemistry, and biology. I am currently majoring in biology, but I am doing very poor and my GPA has go very low till the point I am planning to change my major.

I am not good in science but I really like science, I usually have to sacrifice a lot in order to sucess in them.Unfortunately I can afford to get bad grades anymore. I was planning to change my major to business since classes are not that demanding and I may have chance to rise my gpa.

My question are the following: Do you guys think I will have a hard time in dental school because I didnt major in science? and do you guys think I will be in disadvantage for getting into dental school?

Schools aren't too picky about your major. I went to a dental thing at the University of Minnesota and I think they said they like having diversity of majors. One of the girls that is/was a student there gave a tour to one group of prospective students said that her major, before going to dental school, was art.

That's my knowledge of it at least.

Speaking candidly, your low GPA will be a much greater barrier than your choice of major. Good luck.

if you are not good at memorizing facts, then dental school is probably not for you. dentistry has little to do with science, memorization only. I had a tough time going through my first 2 years of dental school cuz i was out of college for too long and my brain got slow... 😛

What kind of memorization involves dental school? Do you need to memorize terms or practical procedures?

u will be taking anatomy, cell biology, biochemistry, general dentistry....etc in the first semester, so it's mostly about memorizing facts. there is not much to memorize for procedures, you will need to get good with your hand skills. that's all.
