Please i need your help

I don't think any of the schools are harder to get into than others. With the exceptions of state schools (if you are out of state).

Not to be a pessimist, but the MCAT score is a little low. The 4 will hurt your chances greatly (unless the reason you have a 4 in verbal is because English is not your first language, which you would have to somehow explain that this would not hinder your ability to communicate with patients).

I don't know anyone who received an interview invite with less than a 21 for the MCAT.

Maybe retaking the MCAT will help you? All I know is that the initial screening will be from two areas: GPA and MCAT scores.

take the MCAT again...I dunno if a 19 will get you looked at, then again I'm no admissions committee memeber either.

Yikes, I wish I could be more optimistic but with a 19 you are going to have a horrible time getting in, especialy with a 4 in verbal.

I would strongly suggest studying a whole bunch and taking the April MCAT. The verbal section is one of the easiest to prepare for in my opinion. All it takes is lots and lots of practice. Take as many practice exams as you can get your hands on. Buy Kaplan and Princeton review books from the book store and do all the verbal practice questions, buy the real MCAt off the MCAT web page and do them all.

Since your other scores are ok, really concentrate on verbal and I think you will do ok. If you are able to get a better score, then you can apply to the schools of your choice.

I wish I could be more encouraging, but without a higher score, you are not going to have much luck. Sorry.

Sorry about your streak of bad luck. As everyone else has recommended, I think that you should definitely retake the ol' MCAT and suffer through it again. I don't know what the requirements are in your state, but in Oklahoma, where I live, you have to have a minimum of a 21 for either the DO or MD school. You may want to invest in one of those subject books from NOVA Press or Examcrackers for your verbal score. Good Luck.

I have a friend who sat in on an admissions committee review session of applications. He found it to be informative. This was an East Coast school, MD program. A guy from Stanford with a 3.7 and 34 or around there on his MCAT was dismissed because of his personality, but another guy....albeit he was URM, but he just got a spot with a 2.9 GPA and a 19 on his MCAT. I was shocked, but I think that who knows. They said it wasn't based on his URM status, but because his personality and history were amazing. So, you never know.

so unless you are amazing take the MCAT again and study for it like there is no more important exam you could take.

I think the gpa's are workable...but the MCAT is low. Yes there are probably stories of people getting in....but those are very low percentages and one I would rather not risk.

a 19 is way harsh. I got a 21 my first time taking the MCAT and I realized I needed to go and bite the bullet and take it again. It just could have been a bad test day.

you can go offshores if you don't want to take it again
