I'm a student from the midwest applying for advanced rads programs starting in 2016 (after a PGY1 2015-2016). Will rank based on several other factors, but was just wondering which of the following programs on my list will give me 1) the best education ; 2) the best opportunities for fellowship outside of the midwest in body, neuro, or msk --- not quite sure of my path yet...

fwiw - geography/cold winters not a factor for me ; no preference on rural / suburban / urban ; will likely pursue PP after fellowship in 2021.

Can I ask why you want the best opportunities for fellowship outside of the midwest when you have mostly midwest residency programs? Why not rank non-midwest programs for residency? Those you have listed though IMO...

Mayo > Indiana > Iowa > Chicago >> Henry Ford > Ohio State > Colorado

Didn't interview at any of the above, but Mayo and Indiana both have great reputations.

Agree with Cubsfan's order. Mayo and Indiana have the best reputation, but if it were my rank list Chicago and Colorado would move up based on location.

Lots of great choices for you, congratulations. If you truly don't care about location at all, then it is Mayo > Indiana > U of Chicago > Colorado > Iowa > Ohio State > Henry Ford

Definitely don't want to start a war...but there is no world where Colorado is better than Iowa at anything medical. Skiing, smoking weed and for location sure, but definitely not radiology or medicine in general.
I think just agree that Mayo and Indiana are the top two in a tier on their own, then Chicago and Iowa tier, then the rest

Mayo and Indiana have a little edge over the others. Colorado is a good program but is probably below other programs in your list. It has a very solid to excellent IR department but its other departments are just fine.

Agree with above that U Chicago is in the middle of your list, but Chicago is different than Indiana which is different than Denver.

Your rank list is tough. Personally, I like Mayo more than U Chicago and Colorado, but Chicago and Denver are very fun places to live.

Academic reputation:
Mayo > Indiana= Chicago > Iowa > Henry Ford > Ohio State = Colorado

Choosing a location is very personal. Academic strength + location in my opinion:
U Chicago>Mayo>Indiana>Colorado>Iowa, Henry Ford, Ohio State

Mayo Rochester is a very good program, but Rochester is not for everyone.

Detroit above denver and columbus? I'm dubious.

Is HF really that much better academically than OSU and UC?

Not significantly different. Similar.

Probably HF=OSU=UC

Henry Ford is a little underrated because it is Detroit and UC is a little overrated because it is Denver.
