Please disregard any preferences based on location.....pretend that they are all in the same city 🙂

If this is what makes you happy, go for it. Don't rely on other people's opinions. Everybody has a different personality and fits into programs differently. Rank what programs you liked the best, regardless of "reputation". Unless you are planning on academics or a prestigious fellowship, 98% of residencies will have no problem getting you board certified. You're going to get 20 different lists on these forums.

no logic to this, just gut feeling

I don't know much about those programs (I think location should definitely play a major role in your decision), but I would probably advise staying away from DMC/Wayne State. Read the thread on the general residency forum on AM about it.

Location is my #1 criteria, i cannot possibly make a list without considering it. I'm surprised anyone would really..

For top notch programs (MGH, Hopkins, UCSF, ....) vs mid tier ----> Go for the top notch.
Choosing between mid tiers ----> go for location.

All of the mentioned programs are mid tier and you can get good education in all of them. Go for the location.

For Wayne state, I would rank it at the very bottom, even if I wanted to rank it. There are a lot of rumors. They may not be true, but doing residency in a place that you do not have a stable feeling about, is horrible. The last thing you need in the middle of your residency is looking for a position in a different program.

It really depends on what your career goals are plus your family situation. Don't have to rank a place like MIR at the top just because it's top notch. Someone who's single and going into PP could be happier at NW or U Chicago then at MIR w/o sacrificing much if anything in terms of career goals. Very different than someone who's married with kids and wants a very academic career.
