Please suggest me to find the best post bacc. I looked at the list of career enhance post baccs on aamc website and also email quite a few program directors yet can't decide which one should I apply. I don't have enough $$ to apply bunch of different schools. so just wanted to choose where I have good chances to get in. My cGPA 2.73 and sGPA is 2.5. I am graduating with Biology degree this year.

You dont need a post-bacc, you need an SMP and your grades arent good enough to get in.

You need to get your GPA as close to a 3.0 as possible and apply to an SMP

Rob is differentiating between the term 'postbac,' which is usually used to refer to a career changer-style postbac program for those who have not completed the prereqs, and the term 'SMP,' which is usually used to refer to an application enhancing-type program. You've indicated you need the latter, rather than the former.

I'm not sure what you mean about an SMP being harder to get into than a postbac -- that's comparing apples to oranges, unless you're defining each term differently than convention dictates.

Thank u NewmansOwn! I was comparing these terms differently. Is there any gpa cut off for smp? and how much they weigh on mcat scores?

Most SMPs require a 3.0 and they do value MCAT scores but to differing amounts.

If you had a 2.95 and a 34 MCAT you would have a shot at some SMPs. If you had a 2.95 and a 23, not so much. See what I'm getting at?

IMO, you need to take a bunch of classes, get good grades in them, drag your GPA up towards 3.0, rock the MCAT, and then apply to SMPs having a good year of classes under your belt, and a solid MCAT.

Right now there aren't many places you are competitive for.
