I got 78% foreign dental grad. GPA 3.2 please help if there is any program and I say any program will take me I don’t have time to retake or go back for advanced standing (can I with this score?) reasons (Family, money, etc.,) plus this the best I can get in my circumstances. I would really appreciate all your inputs telling me what to do next as far as private practice or ANY program.

Frankly speaking it seems very diffficult to get into DDS or DMD with this score but may be you would be able to get into dental hygiene program with this score. Hope it will help.

Why would you guys go back to school if you can take a residency I don’t understand it please explain.
A lot of my old friends they took residency with less score than 78 and now they have their own practice so why again you spend 2 years in schools

To get into residency is harderthan DDS, as u need good clinical experience, research experience, some master degree from ur home country or an externship here etc. U must have a strong Resume. It was easy in past but not now. Although it is written on programs websites that national board not required for international cannidate but usually they prefer high national board score more than 90. Position are a few and u have to compete with US graduates. I am saying all these by my personal experience coz I did apply in some programs but got rejection from few and waiting for rejection from rest of all. That's why I am retaking and also will join research or externship so that I can make my CV better and again apply next yr

My stats is 82, GPA 3.75, Toefl 99, I yr internship + 2 yr practice in general dentistry in home country, 3 month observership in Implant dentistry in US . Extra courses in implants and perio. Volunteer work + 1 Table clinic in International Conference.

i also have the same score as u have in part 1 & i also applied to some of the programs mainly aegd. i preferred aegd bcoz last year there were only 50% filling of the available seats. anyways i dont think retaking is a good option. iam not retaking part 1 but iam taking part 2 soon & try to get a good score there & if i get into an aegd prog that will be enough to get me an admission into a dds/postdoctoral prog next year

abt experiance- 1yr internship + 6yrs as general dentist in india
1yr in u.s as dental & oral surgery assistant
