Anybody know which state schools give you a state resident after you attend one year school in their state? I heard Ohio does. what else?
Thanks

For the two jersey schools, as long as you move in before 1st day of class you become state resident (to them in terms of financial aid)...as for being a "legal" state resident, that's another story.

University of Washington does after the first year- this is a very recent change. However, I think it is still hard for out-of-state applicants to get in (not counting MD/PhD applicants).

SUNY Upstate does - but don't know about the other SUNY's. What I do know is that ALL the SUNY's require proof of residency for a period of 12 months - but I don't know if this specifically means 12 months BEFORE you start first-year (with the exception of Upstate mentioned above)

I understand the University of Colorado does this, which is why they charge so much for out-of-state tuition.
