friends,
first let me give u my stats.
GPA....2.54
TOEFL...250
part1....90.
since i have low gpa , i think i have almost 0 chances of getting admission ino any dental school. so i am planning to retake my part1 in the month of december again to improve my part1 score , so that i if i improve it i can have better chances for admission.
i am in a confused state. so plz i need u r advise , wether my decision is corrct or not.

yes walnut . i applied to bu , nyu and upenn . but my GPA is big drawback. thats why i am planning to improve my part1 by retaking

i applied to the univ. this year for the first time..
but i heard this from previous threads and from my seniors..
thats why.........

congragulations, on ur 90.
i think u shold apply to school, the most important is they look at the board thats what i have been told, ....
can u advice me on what exactly u studied for part 1, because i am lost & do not know what to study... but since u got a god score, i will follow ur advice.

Hey Chinny,
If I were in your shoes, I would not bother with retaking part 1. Since you have applied, see what the Universities have to say about this, its they who decide.

We all know, that ECE evaluation of GPA can vary a lot as we have like 'n' number of Universities in our country who grade very differently and hence your ECE evaluted GPA is not a big deal. Your score of 90 says it all!🙂

Wait and see what the Univeristies say about your application otherwise go for part 2 instead of part 1.

This is what I feel.......

If I were you, I would focus on improving my resume by involving in any researches affiliated with dental schools, doing any short term courses related to dentistry like oral radiology etc..

Since GPA cannot be chaged and I think 90 is good enough to fetch admission in to dental schools.
