This question is for all podiatry students who know/remember their class schedules for the first year...

I'm currently planning on taking several upper division biological science courses at a university. What are the first year podiatry school courses? Would it be prudent of me to go ahead and take the undergraduate equivalent of the course (say microbiology or cell biology)? I recognize that podiatry school is academically rigorous and want to prepare myself for first year courses.

Thanks
SF

I think this would be very wise to do so. I would highly recommend taking classes in Microbiology, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. Others that may also help: histology, neurophysiology, developmental biology, virology and immunology.

If you want to take them because you are interested in them/required to take them, then great. I never took micro/cell bio and got mid 90's in both. I think anatomy/phys are the only ones you definitely want to take, probably biochem too, but just the one for pre-meds

I would advise taking them. Not saying that the classes cant be done w/o them(as airbud so modestly pointed out) , they definately can. But I took immuno my first semester and it was way easier b/c I had taken Immuno/micro/bacteriology. Im now in Infectious Diseases and having these classes as a background help here. Soon i take biochem/neuro/physio/histo. And I had each of these in undergrad except for histo, but we did cover some in my Anatomy course.
