I once dated the daughter of a podiatrist who owned a yacht and a Porsche. I thought to myself, "I'd like a Porsche and a yacht too."

It wasn't until I attended podiatry school that I learned podiatrists perform ankle surgeries. There's a significant lack of information to the public on what we do. While AACPM's pushing a presence on TikTok and Instagram is the most important, I strongly believe they should prioritize modernizing podiatry schools and enhancing the curriculum.

Will reply to this thread when I have my Porche and yacht.

Here I was thinking you had the win at girlfriend.

AACPM and/ or the pod schools themselves sent out direct-mail postcards to MCAT taker lists (I would assume they buy those lists from AAMC?). I guess they figure that most people taking the MCAT won't get into MD/DO, so decent investment to get those lists and send marketing to drum up apps.

That is how I found out podiatry was separate: a postcard. I read and shadowed after that. No joke.

...this was 20 years ago (4 schools ago) back with only 7 podiatry schools. Not sure if AAMC still sells those lists of MCAT takers or if pod schools still do that as there are many more options/seats.
