I haven't been in school since 1996 and decided to go back after my company went out of business so I went to a CC to register. I had to take a stupid Math CPT (Computer placement test) and thought I aced it but man was I wrong... I now have to take an intermediate algebra class which does not even count as a credit before I can take my science pre reqs and any math classes. Will this intermediate class show on my transcript and will I have a difficult time getting accepted into Pharm school bc of this CPT low score? Things just keep getting worse and worse for me maybe I should just say forget school and get a job somewhere as a water bed salesman LOL

No, indeed. I had to take a remedial math before they let me take my regular math classes, trust me you will be very thankful for the refresher. The people who did the remedial class actually did better when it came time to take pre-calculs, so don't sweat it, everything happens for a reason. In the remedial class, we actually got pass or fail instead of a grade.

P.S. Now I have a minor in math....LOL

tootoo you are too funny! 😀 A minor in math lol

I feel your pain, Pharmdman913..I too, am back in school after graduating 9 years ago with a non-math, non-science related degree. My school won't even let you take college algebra right from the get-go. I have to first take Intro Algebra (which is not even offered through the math department, its in the post-secondary department), then intermediate algebra, THEN either regular college algebra or pre-calc. That's a lot of math refreshing! (But I need it as I suck at math, always have!)
