Hello, Im sure you're all tired of hearing this question and have posted replys to this same type various times but i cant find any threads that are exactly what im looking for. Ive had alot of trouble adjusting to being in a classroom of 300 people and have received poor grades in some of the Pharmacy prerequisites. Im attending a different 4 year college now and am getting A's in all of my science in math classes. However i was wondering if my poor performance at the University will greatly reduce my chances of being accepted into a Pharmacy School even if i repeat all course work that is unsatisfactory? Any link to threads that help my understanding of the situation or any reply would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
GUy

If the classes you got bad grades in reduce your GPA by alot, then yes, it will greatly affect your chances of getting in. If it affects little, then you'll won't have a lot of problems. Just be prepared to answer why you retaking classes.

I wouldnt really use large classes as an excuse to the admission board, because most of your classes in pharmacy school will be large too. Instead figure out what it is about the large classes that troubled you so much, was it needing to learn to study independently or adapting to university right out of a small high school? I had trouble with huge classes too, but I did so because of the reasons above.

If your overall GPA is competetive enough (meaning it's about the average of students accepted), then no, it shouldnt hurt you, at least not detrimentally. Depends, how "bad" did you do? Since you're retaking the classes you didnt do so well in, then the new grades should help boost up those grades, and it's good that you're taking them again. It'll show the adcom that you're persistent, dedicated, and determined..as long as you show an upward trend in your grades, you'll do fine.
