Possible 3rd time applicant, low GPA, but getting interviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Seems like you're a good enough applicant to get that many interviews. Polish up those interview skills, get some clinical experience, and retake DAT if you really want (not necessary though) and you'll be accepted somewhere next cycle.

Ask schools to meet with you to discuss what would make you a stronger applicant, and definitely get the oGPA up either through a 1 year masters or post-bacc!

Have you contacted the schools and asked them why you didn't get in?
The first cycle I did. They said I did OK on interviews but I could be better. They said my GPA is fine because I did really well in my upper level science classes so a post bac or masters isn't necessary. But that was only two schools. I recently contacted the others and I'm waiting for replies.

So to each interview you step into, you come in with a pre-determined ranking based on your gpa and dat and maybe even extra-curriculars. In order to get in with less than a 3.2/20 you have to be like outstanding at your interview. If you have a masters degree or higher than 3.2, you have a higher pre-determined ranking, which allows you to gain an acceptance without blowing the interview out of the water.

I'm going to delete this thread now everyone, so thank you all for the advice!

Make sure your personal statement effectively conveys why you want to be a dentist and connects your CV to the dental profession.
