Are there any possible ways to successfully study for the MCAT over the summer and NOT take a gap year?

Particularly doing Sn2ed's schedule?

Freshman Year Fall and Spring

Would that make me a late applicant? and would that work with Sn2ed's schedule?

Just start studying 3 months prior like Sn2ed's schedule entails.

You wouldn't really be "early" but if you submit your primary in June, you'll be verified by the time you take your exam and can get your secondaries ready to go before your MCAT scores are released in early August.

It's very doable as long as you have everything else ready to go.

Unfortunately I am not able to do this schedule at this point.

I guess I would have to study during my spring semester junior year, which I think may be really stupid considering I will be taking Orgo 2 and Physics 2 during that time.. Looks like I may not have a choice!

Consider taking the gap year...weigh your pros and cons

First of all it'll take a noticeable amount of pressure off you -- studying for the MCAT + classes simultaneously (combined with research if you're planning on doing research) is horribly difficult, if you do plan on getting straight A's (and making significant advancements in research that will eventually help you get published)

You'll most likely perform better on the MCAT if you dedicate your entire summer to studying ( and take the last offered MCAT, then apply the following June 1st when primaries open ) vs studying while taking on a hectic school schedule.

And honestly, once you start med school, there are absolutely no breaks. None. So why not take your last one year break before the hell begins? My two cents.v

Gap years are incredibly common, and the average matriculant is like, 25? Just do something worthwhile during your gap year. It's not going to kill your application. Most likely, it'll bolster it if you spend your time wisely.
