There is a lot going on right now with this pandemic, and is throwing everyone a curveball right down the middle. I am a first year, and the complete switch to online classes is extremely tough. I will be starting a new job soon (side tangent), and some of the online courses seem completely different now as compared to when they were taught in the traditional setting. My university is allowing students to choose to make ANY of their classes PASS/FAIL as late as April 22. Would it look bad in the long run if I ended with a less than optimal grade (we're talking like B's and C's here) and decided to just make it a pass with everything going on? Thanks y'all

People get Bs and Cs all the time and live to tell about it in med school, so they are really not the end of the world, although each one does hurt you just a little bit more as compared to As. That said, all schools so far have indicated that they will be understanding of P/F grading for this semester, especially because some schools are making it mandatory.

The choice of making some, rather than all, classes P/F is trickier, however. Most people would not think a B is the end of the world, so the issue for you would be that making only some classes P/F would probably lead to an inference by the schools that you are masking a C. My advice would be not to do it for a B, and do whatever you want for a C. A P will look like a C anyway, but at least it won't be included in your GPA, and no school will screen you out for doing it this semester. Good luck!!
