Post-bac employment

I'm about to begin a post-bac in Chicago. I'll be part time beginning in August. Can others tell me what kind of work they've done during this time?

I'll be volunteering too, but I want a job that is service-oriented, allows me to have contact with those in need, and that is suitable for my level of education. E.g., I'm conidering a job as a nursing assistant. It would be a brand new experience, allow extended contact with patients, and expose me to healthcare. But I'm worried that this would be letting my degree go to waste. Am I being naive? Any suggestions?

being a nurse assistant is a good idea for hospital experience and also fills in the volunteer experience b/c your dealing with patients hands on. ALso, it'll give you alot to write about on your PS, speaking from experience here. Go for it.
