So currently i'm an accounting major about to graduate and I realize that I hate it. I was pre-dental in the beginning. Here are my following stats:

Bio 1 :NC ( Took it as a first semester freshman)
Bio 2: W = First Time
F= Second Time
Chem 1: B
Lab: A
Chem 2: B-
Lab: B-

Am i eligible for a Post Bacc?

Hard to tell from the information given. What is your GPA?

whats your science gpa and your overall gpa? also have u taken the DAT?

Since your GPA is over 3.0, you should be eligible for most post-bac programs. However, if you can delay your graduation and take the classes at your current institution it would probably be cheaper and less troublesome.

It might do you good to get a fresh start and just retake all the sciences over.

But im a senior. So I have to retake gen chem 1 and 2?

I would recommend postponing graduation and following the following schedule starting this summer
Summer 1: bio 1+L and gen chem 1+L
Summer 2: bio 2+L and gem chem 2+L
Fall 2018: orgo 1+L physics 1+L + upper level bio
Spring 2019: orgo 2+L physics 2+L+ upper level bio, study and take DAT in May and finish up any remains prerequisites in the fall.

You don’t have to retake but it would help and admissions committees may look at it as a fresh start when considering your app.

Are you in the NYC area? Do you know of any schools that have post bacc programs? Thing is I took courses in psychology when I was pre dental. I was a PSYCH major: these were my grades:
PSYCH 1: B+
PSYCH Stats: B-
PSYCH Development: B-
PSYCH Adolescnece: A+

Will this negatively or positively impact my application?

Psych classes won’t effect your sGPA so it shouldn’t matter to much. And no I’m not in the NYC area but there’s a lot of discussion about post bacc programs on here.

I understand your position. I graduated from college and worked for several years in a different field prior to going back to college to finish pre-requisite courses for dental school. It was a long road but I wouldn't have done it differently. I'm not sure what NC and W mean but it sounds like you may need to retake your biology courses. Your chemistry grades look decent, so they should be fine. If you really want to pursue dentistry don't worry about the timeline so much. Many people change careers and directions throughout their twenties and beyond. Be grateful you recognized this early! If you do want to pursue it I would finish your remaining required coursework and double your efforts. Treat your education like a full-time job and you will be successful. You are also in a really good position to do well on the DAT. If you take a whole year of post-bac courses your science education will be fresh and prepare you well for the exam. I would just try to take the courses at your current college, or any other convenient school, and get them done. Good luck!

Thing is I took biology 2 twice. And did bad twice. If I take it a third time, it looks bad on a transcript doesn't it?

I mean it looks bad that you struggled with gen bio that much to begin with. You just need to have a pretty much perfect record from here on out. 3.8+

Keep your head up though. If this is what you want then it’s still possible just work hard

Look at the prerequisites for dental schools. It’s usually bio 1&2, chem 1&2, orgo 1&2, physics (some require). If you don’t have a C or higher in any of those classes, they will probably not look at the rest of your application. So make sure to fulfill those requirements! Really strive for A’s to boost your GPA, and you should be on the right path.
Dental schools are more than GPA though.
There’s the DAT (average competitive score is 20)
Make sure to have community service hours & shadowing (over 150 each to be competitive)
Research is good to have as well but not a make or break

Good luck!

Well, perhaps I'm biased but I would recommend looking at the SFSU post-bac, or any post-bac program that offers Career Changer tracks. You don't really have a lot of BCP science units, which means you can still recover and create a upward trend with successful completion of more coursework. I was Career Changer, and had to start from scratch.
