Hi everyone.

I am going to be beginning my DIY post bacc starting Fall 2021. My preferred program (Program A) is still unsure whether they will be online or in-person for Fall 2021 and since med schools prefer in-person classes, I am in a bit of a pickle. So here's the situation:

Program A:
  1. Admitted to the program.
  2. Already taking a few nonscience prereqs there.
  3. Like the faculty (potential LORs too), program feel and prospective faculty have good reviews.
  4. Flexible course options.
  5. Can take all prereqs (including nonscience) over here.
  6. Lack of clarity on whether it is going to be online or in-person for Fall 2021.
Program B:
  1. Not admitted, will have to apply to the program.
  2. Unfamiliar with the program (though this is easily solvable of course).
  3. Prospective faculty reviews aren't great.
  4. Course options not flexible, fixed times.
  5. Will have to supplement nonscience prereqs from a CC, no other option.
  6. Point 5 means I will have to get transcripts from 3 schools instead of one if I continue with Program A.
  7. Website statement that Fall 2021 will be in-person.
Assuming Program A conducts online classes in the fall. Does this trump all other factors mentioned (including taking classes at a CC if I go with Program B), that I apply to Program B and go there if I get in? That is, are in-person science classes that much more important that I ignore all other factors?

Would appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you in advance!

We're in the middle of a pandemic still... medical schools are going to be understanding and give a pass on online coursework.

Thanks for the response Shotapp. My confusion stems from the fact that a lot of schools are deciding to go in-person in the fall hence online coursework beginning Fall 2021 will be looked down upon. Would love to hear your and other people's thoughts on the matter.

nearly every med school is online right now, and for the foreseeable future.

Hence, the proscription against online classes is void.

My school's SMP is 100% online as well.
