Hey everyone;
Thanks a lot for reading. I just spoke with my premed advisor and she just decided to tell me to calculate my science gap alone at the 4-year (University of Virginia) college instead of both comm college and the 4-year. combined:3.6, 4 year alone is 3.29. MY overall 4-year gap is 3.4 and overall combined gap is 3.7. I had an upward trend in my last year though. I did a research on post bacs and of course most of them are filled and I have to wait for next year but I have been out of school for 2 years and I want to apply next summer so I am considering applying to the spring SSP at Penn or just take upper level courses on my own at my local 4 year institution (George Mason university). I know some schools have linkage agreements and I wouldn't be taking advantage of this option if I opt out with taking classes on my own but I have to start taking classes ASAP to at least get my sgpa to 3.5. Also, what classes do you guys advise to take as upper level sciences, can they be chemistry or mainly bio stuff? There is also an online university of Colorado post bacc program. I'd like to hear your input on these options. I took the MCAT but didn't do well. I will be taking it again by the end of this year. I work as a scribe and a medical interpreter and I have extensive research/volunteering/shadowing/internships experience. I have a BS in engineering science too. Thanks and appreciate the help!

If you already took the prereqs, formal postbac probably won't take you, so you'd need to take courses on your own. Upper levels are fine -- I would probably stick with biochem and quasi- med school offerings rather than upper level chemistries because you are getting far field from medicine and if some chem wonk gives you a bad grade you are hosed. Stay away from online courses -- you already are in a bit if a jam having done so much better at community college than a real four year institution that if you aced an online course you probably fuel concerns not allay them. Make sure you are doing ECs - they are essentially prereqs too. And fix that MCAT.
