Could anyone tell me how adcoms view post-bac grades? I am in a situation where I recieved a 4 year degree with a mediocre GPA. I then went on to recieve a second bachelors degree (2 more years worth of class) and walked out with a 3.62. (Ave between the two grades about 3.4)I know my situation is not ideal, but how would this be viewed? Thanks! 😕

Your grades are fine. In fact, since you improved your gpa and it most likely in premed prerequisites, you are in great shape. Don't sweat it. 😀

I agree with grahmcracker.... medical schools usually want to see improvement and it's apparent that you did just that. That maybe something you can point out in your personal statement and in your secondaries.... Now do well in your MCAT's and I'm sure you'll get your chance at an interview....

To follow up on Popoy's response, medical schools also like to see that you performed well in a more academically challenging program. Post-baccs are more rigorous than undergraduate work.

Doing well in these shows a number of things:
1. Academic improvement since undergrad
2. Maturity
3. Good time management
4. Stronger committment to your future

All of these make for a good applicant...and a good medical student.

Keep up the desire and make a strong push with your applications.
