What the fu#$? Georgetown rejected me post interview. Not even a waitlist? That's a major slap in the face. Those fools.

To think, I wasted lots of money to travel over there... 🙄

It's cool. At least I'm alive right. We were afraid you died a week ago. It's good that you're alive and well too. 😉

You're better than me. I was rejected from Georgetown Postsecondary.

Maybe we're just too slick for them

 Yea that's it.

Although for some reason I think a post interview rejection is worse than a pre interview one. The reason is because they had a chance to see me and talk to me. I mean, I thought most schools at least waitlisted their applicants if they were half way decent, and rejected them if they were just awful.

My interview there was great. It lasted an hour and we talked about a lot of things. After the interview, he even walked me back to the admissions office which was about a 10 minute walk.

However, my interviewer was a DO which really surprised me. We even talked about DO schools for awhile. Maybe since he is a DO he didn't carry much weight in the decision process.

It just goes to show, just because you thought your interview went well, doesn't mean anything. I thought my Temple interview went horribly but I was accepted. THIS PROCESS SUCKS!!!

Even though you're a DO advocate, that statment is just asking for flamage.

From what I know the DO that interviewed you is the director of the family practice program isnt he?

He might be. Actually, I don't think it is that bad of a statement. He is a DO interviewer at an excellent MD school. He mentioned he only had been there for a couple of years.

Maybe since it is an MD school they are a bit biased? I don't know....Just a thought. Everything else doesn't make sense. I had a great interview. I thought it was my best one. I should have at least been waitlisted.

Their whole system of choosing who is accepted is messed up. They explained it to us before the interview, and it sounded like no other school's way of doing things.

It's too bad because of the MD schools I went to, I liked that school the most.

Hey Slick,
When did you interview at G'Town?

sorry about the rejection slickness🙁 🙁 on another note, I don't think that him being a DO should have been a major thing and if so why did they even hire him in the first place? ppl are so rediculous!!

The impression I got off of GTown was that they were very concerned with "fit" -- more so than other schools (I'm sure you know this, too, from interviewing). So, it seems likely that they would also be very sensitive to whether or not they are your first choice/ whether you really agree with their teaching philosophy. You may have had a really excellent interview, but still somehow left them with the impression that you would be happier at a different type of school. So buck up! I'm sure your mad interview skills will take you far at other schools.

On a different note, I am also interested in hearing when you interviewed 😀

Highclass, I interviewed there in early October.

Grumpy Bear, at my interview I kept stressing the cura personalis philosophy and mentioned how I liked it. I also brought up how I was Catholic and emphasized that since the school was Jesuit, it was a good fit for me.

He did ask me if I got into a CA school vs. there where would I go. I thought that was an unfair question, but I just basically said it would be a tough decision but I really do like Georgetown and its philosophy. I thought I sold myself enough to the point where I could "fit in" at the school.

They SHOULD NOT have rejected post interview. They could have had the courtesy to waitlist me. I believe it probably has to do with my MCAT being a 29, since I believe their avg accepted stats are a bit higher.

Anyways, that's just the biggest insult. If this is what they do to their fellow Catholics then I wouldn't want to go there anyway. They should have not even invited me for an interview and wasted my time.

Thus, I recommend to anyone thinking about going to interview at Georgetown to think twice. They will probably waste your money and time. I had to bump other interviews just for them, for what looks like no reason.
