did anyone else recieve a rejection from a school they interviewed for yet?

I'm having a panic attack because apparently others have recieved them. Here I'm thinking that once you're interviewed, they will at least put you in the waiting list or reject you later on if they find others more qualified. How wrong I'm, so very very wrong. I'm 1000x more nervous each time I check my mailbox and my email these days.

If you did get a post-interview rejection, pray tell, what are the reasons they gave for doing so/???

I received a thin letter from Louisville week after my interview. I opened it and it was a "Thank You for Visiting" letter. I thought it was a rejection and almost soiled myself.😱

I believe my dear friend armorshell has stated this previously, and I concur: reject now rather than give false hope and wait until Dec 1.

don't play that game dude. my friend is so addicted he can't stop.

I would *highly* doubt that rejections are being given out post-interview. After interviewing schools traditionally have given acceptances on or after Dec 1, but never rejections. That is you will either get an acceptance or be placed on a waitlist.

The odds are that you will matriculate into dental school without ever receiving formal rejections from the other schools you interviewed at.

I thought so too but now I'm not so sure.
Oh my friend who is holding a rejection letter from a school she interviewed three weeks ago wishes so much that you are right. And that somehow her rejection letter will turn into a "thank you for visiting" letter.

I do hope that your friend is the exception and that dental schools accept the vast majority of the applicants they interview.

why would they accept the vast majority of them, why wouldnt they start weeding people out, i know for a fact that arizona will send you a letter one week after your interview if they dont like you.

I guess it's like a security blanket. People want to know that once they receive an interview they have a good chance of getting in. It makes everyone feel better.

i see what you are saying now
